HELP ME!

So I figured that it doesn't hurt to put it out there and ask.

This coming February, I am going to Ghana to help set up a community radio station, help out with a school building initiative and just experience life with the locals while doing some fundraisers and donations.

BUT HERES THE COOL PART.

My prof is trying to set up an opportunity for me to do a Spoken Word workshop with some of the kids down there.

*cooks rapidly like lil b*

So I'm definitely going to take this offer up. What I need however is help with financing. The trip is going to cost me $2,500 and money truly doesn't grow in trees. Especially as a student...

So if there are any kind people in the world who are willing to help me out by ways of donations or sponsorship... let a chick know! <3

I'm trying to make this poetry thing international. leggo!

NEW POEM

Hey all!
So, a while back I was asked to write a poem for a wedding happening next month and it is only recently that I had the time to "getter done" So I'm sharing it here just to get it out there. Perhaps even some feedback. You've all been pretty good in getting back to me via facebook (lol it's funny to get random inboxes and friend requests though it's easier to just comment here) so i am very appreciative! To write this I had to do a lot of looking around for inspiration but I managed to get something out with the help of other poets I drew inspiration from. Check it out!

With their eyes to the horizon
so far beyond where the sun sets into the stars
in perfect alignment to make their two worlds one universe.
love designed by the master
whereafter he looked upon his decision and said
"It is good"
Just like when God made man,
He needed to make love
So he formed the essence of his feelings for us
And created her from the rib of adam.
With the complexity of love rooted in the very fibres of their beings
God inserted himself into each atom
The active interaction between two people
Is the work of God starting from the atomic binding
Reminding us that God's love is present even at the molecular level.
So it is easy to revel at the thought of finding love in each other
Finding God in each other
Making spiritual connections that matter above all other
For your love, is sweeter than that of wine
And your name is that of a fragrant perfume
And your God like spirit, is what has made me gravitate to you
For you have made my heart glad,
and God has made our hearts one
Just like God stopped the sun in the midst of the sky to give Joshua more time
He has stopped others from walking through the door of my heart, only closing it once you walked through
For what could be sweeter than finding the one God made specifically for you?
So let your patience for each other be that of Moses, your passion that of King David
Your trust in each other like Daniels trust in God
But most of all, let your love for each other resemble the selflessness and unwavering love of Christ
See people say that time tells all stories
But the book of life was already written before time came into existence
So those who think that this story, this love
only starts at this beginning, have no clue about the heavenly plan God has written
For the moment God created love in the garden of Eden for his purpose
This love was already called into being
It is only now, that it has surfaced
