SOMETHING NEW FOR YOU GUYS!

YES I KNOW. it's been a HOT minute since I put anything up, I apologize. school has been taking up all my time. But Ajax High asked me to help out with the White Ribbon Campaign so i thought I could write something along the lines of abuse, etc. This one cuts deep cause I know so many girls in situations like this. I actually cried while writing it. I hope you guys enjoy this. I MIGHT post a video of me saying it cause it honestly sounds 64688248 times better when said out loud but I'm not too sure yet. Let me know what you all think. Feedback is the only way I get better <3
Much love!

Make A Wish

She no longer wished on shooting stars
and it seemed like the 11th minute of the 11th hour would never come
Instead she wished on the broken apartment building lights
Cause after every fight, the sparks would ignite
Giving the illusion of dancing stars in the sky

Make a wish.

She prays for life to pass her by cause she rather die
than to wake up with another head ache , bigger than the heart ache
from the blows of his fist that her body can't take
God must have made a mistake
Somewhere in the story book of her life.

She wasted prayers, and wishes on happiness.
Praying for something that never existed
Hoping for something that wasn't realistic
she will always be that outcast and misfit
As long as the power is his fist.
There was no power in wishes.
So she'd close her eyes and hope that they wouldn't open back
If I just stand still, maybe I won't provoke his attack
Always tense and I can't relax
Like a slave with the whips on my back.

To hide her pain, she'd always try her hardest
To mask the bruises, she became an artist
Using her face as a canvas
With lipstick to paint on fake and phoney smiles
To hide the frowns of a lifestyle so hostile
With a boyfriend's anger just too wild to control.

And every night she'd try to cry
But her tear ducks were as dry as the sahara
Once again, hiding pain through her cover girl mascara
lash after lash, after lash, after lash
Just as hard as the ones that he'd place on her back.
The burden of this artist
Just wouldn't  submiss.

Make a wish.

She would close her eyes and pray for rainbows
But all she'd see is a frown ten shades of grey
With happiness too far away
Teasing her grasp and staying out from her reach.
And no matter how much the preacher would preach
She'd still scream at night that "God can't hear me!"
And she'd try and reach for that holy cross
but the canvas of her mind was shattered with a holocaust
of emotions.
And a battle field of despair
And a depression that only comes, when the devil visits there

Make a wish.

She can't leave him.
She knows its not safe
So she shuts her mouth and knows her place
keeps her head down, makes no mistakes
And builds on a strength to endure all that she takes.
Consistently speaking false lies saying that she is nothing without him
Convincing her that without him she can't win
So no matter how hard the blows,
One thing she knows is that
Somewhere in the sick and twisted battlefield of love
No one else loves her more than him.
So I give him my all, with all I have left
With his grasp on my neck
Please don't take my last breath
Just so I can

Make my last wish.
